Chapter 1 (16/16+?)

In the following day, Jude arrived in the room 444 before the philosophers once again; but the waiting was not exceedingly long: soon they were all gathered, sitting on the same chairs as the morning before.

“I have sent the paperwork to the ones responsible for approving solutions and we have a positive answer” started Marty “tomorrow we are to go to the normals’ territory looking for new Socrates”

“You bring wonderful news, my friend! Today we could focus on the archived problems, then”

“Nona, please, let us not work on the Cynics’ situation; talking about them makes my appetite fade away”

“Nothing is strong enough to defeat your appetite, Cândido” said Will.

“You need not to worry, Cândido” Nona “we can leave the Cynics’ problem for another day. Perhaps we could analyze a problem from the modern area of the Island, namely the ones devoted to Hume and Kant”

“And what does this problem consist of?” Jude

“For sometime now, a philosopher from Kant’s area started courting a philosopher from Hume’s”

“Besides them not being able to understand each others’ language, I cannot see what would be the grounding to classify that as a problem”

“Well, Jude, relationships of such nature are extremely rare in the Island, for it is the opening for a great unbalance in its harmony”

“In spite of questioning Jude’s capability of comprehending our problems” interveed Marty “I am prone to finding the Kant/Hume problem outdated, for the couple have already had a son for years and nothing drastic has happened. Hence, it appears to me that this archive should be classified as a ‘not genuine problem’”

“Along with most philosophical ‘problems’” Jude said with a shy smile that had a short duration, as she noticed all the philosophers’ critical stares upon her.
